What do a badly hand knitted hat, Steve Jobs, and modular homes have in common? Together they help me make an interesting point. I have a hand knitted hat. I wear it inside out because it’s falling apart. I hate the hat. But, I want to come back to that. Making houses in a factory is kind of less romantic than making them on site. Some modular home builders buncombe county real estate sellers have an interesting answer to that statement. Endless customization options make a factory built home start to feel pretty romantic after all.
The Apple store has free engravings on their iPads, iPod’s and what not now. Most of the engraving suggestions that they recommend are quite romantic sounding.

Okay, now back to my hat. (just wait for it… it’s all coming together, have faith…) I bought it because i thought it would be super nice to have a handmade hat. I was hoping i could use it as a conversation piece or something. That it was made by someone’s hands, I hoped, would make it fit all the better on my head. I liked it for roughly a week then I noticed the quality lacked the precision that a factory made hat would have. And then it started falling apart. It’s really pathetic looking now.

I thought my girlfriend wanted a gift like jewelry, or flowers, or chocolate. She doesn’t. She want’s an engraved iPad.

Now I’m starting to rethink the whole ‘stick built homes are somehow better than modular’ truism that I’ve doubted for a while.
